Purchasing Computers FAQ’s

  1. Who can order computers from MCFS?

    The following can obtain computers from MCFS:

    All K-12 schools in Minnesota, any nonprofit organization with an educational base, teachers, Special Kids.

  2. Can teachers purchase computers from MCFS?

    Yes! Please give us a call to place an order. You will need to mail or fax a letter (on the school's letter head) signed by the principal at your school stating that you are a teacher at the school.


Donating Your Technology FAQ’s

  1. How does a company donate computers to MCFS?

    Any business, government agency, or school can donate used computer technology to MCFS.

    Computer donations can be made by calling MCFS at 651-779-2816 in order to schedule an appointment for delivery.

    We may be able to assist with the transportation for large quantities of equipment.

  2. What kinds of equipment does MCFS need?

    Currently, MCFS only refurbishes Pentium IV desktop and tower computers and newer.

    All other computers are recycled in an environmentally sound manner.

    The demand for notebook computers is at an all time high. MCFS refurbishes Pentium III notebooks and newer.

    While equipment does not need to be donated as a complete unit, it is helpful to us to receive power cords, batteries, etc.

  3. What kind of computer technology does MCFS accept?

    MCFS will accept any computer related equipment – desktop and tower computers, keyboards, mice, CRT monitors, LCD monitors, laptops, printers, etc.
